Dominion Energy Jazz Café | Eric Byrd Trio

Maryland-based pianist and vocalist Eric Byrd has traveled the world with his trio as “ambassadors of jazz.” His music is rooted in swing and bebop, with elements of gospel and blues. Byrd's latest release, “Twenty,” won the Washington Area Music Award for Jazz Recording of the Year.

The trio features Byrd on piano and vocals, Will Hazelhurst on bass, and RVA’s own Kevin Gaines on drums.

Dominion Energy Jazz Café hosts free, in-person performances by some of the area’s best jazz musicians at VMFA every Wednesday in partnership with the Richmond Jazz Society.

NOTE: This event draws big crowds. Be advised that seats fill up quickly, and standing options are limited.
